Pelosi: The New Catholic Theologian?

I think Nancy Pelosi's appearance on Meet the Press just shows to what extent pro-abortion Catholics like Pelosi (and Joe Biden and John Kerry) will go to deny their own faith in the protection of Barack Obama's misstep at the Saddleback Forum and in support of Roe v. Wade (See Video).

No matter what Nancy Pelosi says, the Catholic Church is "not" in some kind of quandary over abortion. They are clearly against it. In fact, abortion aside, they have even been against birth control. That belief is as old as the Old Testament reference to it being a sin if you "spill your seed on the ground." The Catholic Church has, as long as I have lived, believed that human life begins at conception. There have been those within the Catholic Church who have argued that a human life is not a human life until the "soul" actually occupies the body. But, the Catholic Church has never been in some kind of "crap-shoot" mode as to when that might actually occur. Instead, without any clear proof as to when a human becomes a "human with a soul", the "Church" has always taken the safe route and have said "at conception".

I can't believe that the Catholic Church hasn't spoken out against what Pelosi said on Sunday's "Meet the Press". To me, this is an attempt to rewrite the beliefs of the Catholic Church and to literally create a Catholic Church according to Nancy Pelosi (for the benefit of a political platform). She did this publicly on a nationally televised show and it totally distorts the truth. What ever happened to the Church's supposed stand against those Catholic politician's who promote or practice abortion? If they would "excommunicate" people like Pelosi, as they have threatened to do in the past, this kind of religious B.S. from a so-called practicing Catholic wouldn't ever happen again. Apparently, having rich Catholics and their donations (like Pelosi, the Kennedy family, and John Kerry) is more important than protecting the teachings and precepts of the "Catholic Church"!

The Hypocritical Left

All too often, political members of the Democratic party can't help but demonstrate their hypocrisy in "both" words and deeds. All those "high" ideals that they seem to preach to us (all the time), turn out to be just the "air" that's in the balloon.

One such example was Barack Obama's oratory last week on how "he" will seek equal pay for women if he's elected. Of course, right now, it appears he is a supreme "under-payer" of the women on his campaign staff (See Full Story). Sadly (for Obama), his supposed "uncaring" opponent, John McCain, actually pays his women staffers "more" than he pays his own men staffers. Doesn't that just turn "liberalism" versus "conservatism" on its head, Mr. Obama!

This kind of thing reminds me of a couple of other similar incidents.

One such "classic" was when John Edwards refused have a book signing event at Wal-Mart because that non-union shop didn't pay it's employees well and didn't provide health care benefits. Instead, he elected to follow the liberal and union line of reasoning and conduct his book signing at a nearby Barnes and Nobles. Of course, the brain-dead Democrat didn't realize that Barnes and Nobles, paid its employees substantially less per hour and, just like Wal-Mart, didn't provide automatic health care benefits, either. But, John stepped in it and, unfortunately, the local newspaper caught him in that hypocrisy. (See Full Story).

Another classic was when Teddy Kennedy (See Full Story) and his environmentalist nephew, RFK, Jr. (See Full Story), teamed up to stop the building of a windfarm off the coast of Massachusetts that was just a little too close to the Kennedy compound at Hyannis Port. It took 5-1/2 years of maneuvering but the Kennedy's did it. They killed that "green collar" project that Obama keeps talking about. I love it when the Democrats say that drilling will take "too long" to solve our energy problems and our "future" is in wind and solar. Here is perfect case of why wind and solar won't go anywhere, either. If it weren't for environmentalists and environmental impact studies, a oil well can be drilled in 1 to 3 years; about what it would take to custom build and wire-up a windfarm or solar field.

Ah, the hypocrisy!

What Does the Kennedy Endorsement of Obama Say?

You would be hard pressed to find a more liberal, left-winged politician than Senator Ted Kennedy. So, when he decided to endorse the nomination of Senator Barack Obama for the Democrat's candidate for President, it speaks volumes.

The fact is that Obama is fairly left of Hillary Clinton; and, "that" appeals to Ted Kennedy. If you look at the voting record of Barack Obama in the Senate, he has more consistently voted with Ted Kennedy (and the very liberal Democratic viewpoints) than Hillary Clinton. Ted Kennedy teamed up with Barack in his push for his very liberal, "come and stay" immigration plan.

Most people seem to be fascinated with Barack Obama in what his Presidency would historically represent or with his slick, but hollow, rhetoric about change. However, not many are really looking at his "real" viewpoints as a politician. Show me where he has ever really crossed over the aisle to work with the Republicans; either in the Democratic Party-dominated politics of Illinois and Chicago or while in the United States Senate? His voting record clearly shows that this has "not" been the case nor any so-called instrument of change! And, Teddy Kennedy knows that for sure! All Teddy sees is the potential for the complete control of both Houses of Congress and the White House and the potential of a return to the glory-days when the Democrats where able to pass, unencumbered, every liberal initiative they can. That's the change the Teddy wants and sees in Barack Obama!
