Really? White House: "Shooting an all too common' example of gun violence"

Following the recent live-televised shooting of a TV reporter and her cameraman in Virginia, the White House Press Secretary repeated the lie that gun violence is becoming "all too common".

Well, you can file the headline to this blog under "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it".  A quote that is attributed to Hitler's propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

The fact is that gun violence has become substantially less common in this country. As National Public Radio (NPR) reported, the Obama's Bureau of Justice noted:
"Firearm-related homicides dropped from 18,253 homicides in 1993 to 11,101 in 2011 and nonfatal firearm crimes dropped from 1.5 million victimizations in 1993 to 467,300 in 2011."

This only shows that the White House will lie through its teeth to promote their gun control agenda.  Or, for that matter, every agenda they have ever put forward.

The Misconception That Slavery Built the South's Economy

In his Selma anniversary speech,  President Obama got the loudest applause when he said:
"We’re the slaves who built the White House and the economy of the South."
While it is true that some slaves were used to build the White House, it is also true that many black free men, black non-slaves, and freed slaves also worked on that noted symbol; especially true after the Civil War.  However, when it comes to the building of the southern economy, slavery actually caused the economy to regress.

Increasingly, slavery made the South dependent on a "plantation" economy that drew it away from the type of industrialization and economic diversification that was happening in the North.  As such, the South was relatively poor when compared to the North. The overuse of the land resulted in soil erosion and soils that were being exhausted of their nutrients. A fact that ruined the South's future agricultural success.

Also, slaves had no incomes.  They were totally dependent on slave owners for their food, shelter, and clothing. By 1750, half of the Southern population were slaves.  Therefore they had no money to buy the kinds of things that could have grown an economy.  So, simply, as the number of slaves grew, so did the South's overall poverty.  Additionally, because so many slaves tended the plantations and served as housekeepers, handymen, construction workers, and cooks, the whites, too, got poorer for the lack of any of those jobs due to something that economists call the "crowding-out effect."

As a result of this, there are many economists who think slavery would have died out on its own. Not just for moral reasons but, because of economic self-preservation.  Today, some of the poorest states in the union are still in the South as a hangover from those days of slavery and the failure to industrialize their economies.

Why Is the White House Hiding The Situation Room Photos Taken the Night of theBenghazi Attack?

For weeks, now, there have been calls to release the official White House photos of the Situation Room and its attendees during the streaming videos of the Benghazi attack.  But, the White House has refused all requests.  As you recall, following the assassination of Bin Laden, they couldn't get the Situation Room photos out fast enough.  This obvious withholding of the Benghazi-related photos seems to strongly suggest that there might be another, parallel, cover up with regard to the fateful night.

What would those photos really show us?  Was the President missing?  Perhaps getting a full night's sleep before having to travel to campaign in Las Vegas the very next morning. If so, this would explain why the White House hasn't produced any copies of the President's directives that supposedly ordered military intervention to protect our personnel and turn back the attackers.  Was Hillary gone, too?  If this was the case, this would be gross negligence on her part.  Was Susan Rice in attendance?  If she was, she clearly would have seen that these attacks were not spontaneous; making her Sunday talk show explanations of that following Sunday a bunch of lies.

Actually, if any of those questions were to be answered in the affirmative, it would strongly suggest that there has been an active campaign of intentional disinformation going on since the attacks.

Stephanopoulos: A Pawn of the White House

All this week, the Daily Caller has been publishing a series of articles on how liberal attack dog, Media Matters, is taking its "talking points" and "attack directions" from the White House and, at the same time, using connected liberal journalists to push those talking points and attacks through liberal mainstream news media and journalists. Now, an alert conservative attorney, William A. Jacobson, may have just found proof that ABC's George Stephanopoulos is one of those news media personnel who may have taken direction from the Obama White House.

He points out that, in the January 7th GOP Debate on ABC, Stephanopoulos asked each of the candidates whether or not the States could ban contraception. At the time, contraception was neither a local or national issue. So, obviously, this out-of-the-blue questioning was a real head shaker. Now, we know that, just one month later, contraception would become a national issue with the ObamaCare mandate. In retrospect, it sure looks like coordination with the White House.

You can read William A. Jacobson article at this link: Remember when no one understood why ABC asked about contraception at the NH Republican debate?
