According to a recent Harvard study, CNN shares the top spot with NBC for negative reporting regarding President Trump. Both report negatively, about 93% of the time.
However, apparently, anonymous sources aren't enough for CNN. Now, they are employing "mind readers". In an article dated Saturday May 20th, titled "First on CNN: Comey now believes Trump was trying to influence him, a source says." The network reached that conclusion based on a source who was "a person familiar with his [Comey's] thinking."
Really? A person "familiar with" Comey's "thinking?" From what carnival tent did CNN dig this joker up? This network claims journalistic integrity? Also, think about this. Comey, as the former head of the FBI, is apparently too stupid to see when someone is trying to sway his investigation? Then perhaps Trump was right. Comey "is" a "nut job"! Of course, Comey didn't think that Hillary's careless handling of classified information rose to the level of criminality, although a helluva lot of other people thought it did. And, just maybe, Loretta Lynch's meeting with Bill Clinton might have been another form of obstruction of justice. But, I digress.

The Politics of Naming a "Special Prosecutor" For Trump/Russia
Over the years, investigations into things like such as Watergate, 911, the JFK Assassination, Clinton/Lewinsky etc., have all been headed by a supposedly independent investigator. The titles of those investigations and others have ranged from Commissions, Independent Counsels, Special Counsels, and Special Prosecutors; all to do essentially the same thing.
It is interesting to me, that Democrats are now calling for a "Special Prosecutor" regarding the investigation of Russian meddling in our presidential election and possible collusion by Trump and/or his surrogates rather than calling for an Independent Counsel or a Special Counsel. So why the words "Special Prosecutor"? Well, it implies that a conclusion of wrong-doing has already been reached. Here's the definition of a prosecutor: "a person, especially a public official, who institutes legal proceedings against someone." Of course, the firing of Comey only helps solidify Trump's guilt in the minds of the Democrats. Thus they feel, more than ever, a Special Prosecutor is needed.
It is all about the Democrats making the voting public believe Trump is already guilty by simply choosing the words that imply it. Once again, its all about politics, since after months of FBI investigations, no Trump-collusion with the Russians has been found, stated or leaked.

Firing Comey Gave Democrats Fuel for the Russia/Trump Connection
Nearly a day doesn't go by that a Democratic politician or strategist doesn't remind Americans that Trump may have illegitimately been elected because of collusion with the Russians. This is despite the fact that ongoing concurrent investigations in the House, Senate, and the FBI have not produced any evidence to support it
So, it was no wonder then, that when Trump fired FBI Director Comey, the Democrats automatically smelled a rat. Immediately, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer demanded a special prosecutor under the assumption that Comey's dismissal was a direct result of his investigation of Russian interference in the election. Therefore, the Russia/Trump controversy continues to have legs.
However, there is an obvious flaw in that thinking. Comey being fired does not stop the Russia investigation. And unless Comey was extremely hands on and had nothing else to do, there is most likely some lead investigator at the FBI who is actually in charge of thet investigation. That's the reality.
My problem with the Comey firing is why it took so long. Trump should have let him go early into his presidency because of the way he -- not the Russians -- interfered in the election regarding Hillary's email server. In addition, the way the firing was handled was a violation of every code of conduct for any executive. You just don't fire someone by letter unless that person simply isn't available. The proper thing to do is to have a face-to-face meeting in which the person being released receives a full understanding as to why he/she is being let go. That was not the case, and it clearly shows an insensitivity on Trump's part that I find reprehensible.

Democrats Anti-Trump Circus over Gorsuch
When I listened to the Senate Gorsuch hearings for his nomination to the Supreme Court, the Democrats had very little to condemn this man for. His answers to their concerns sounded both logical and sincere and he remained unflustered. Yet, the Dems kept coming back to one ruling that they think paints him as a heartless S.O.B. who would leave a truck driver to die in 14 below weather. In this supposed "Frozen Trucker" case, Gorsuch ruled against the majority and sided with the company who fired the trucker for leaving his rig behind on the side of the road to find gasoline. Gorsuch ruled against the trucker because of Federal law and simply told the Democrats that if they didn't like his ruling, then change the law.
So, out of 2700+ rulings, the Democrats believe that just this one ruling should disqualify him. The Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer also claims that Gorsuch is a "conservative" ideologue and unfit to be on the Supreme Court. A fact that I find interesting since the website FiveThirtyEight researched his rulings on the 10th Circuit and actually found him to be more liberal than many of the other justices on that court.
But, still, the Democrats don't want him on the Supreme Court. In another effort to block him, they are now claiming that as long as Trump is under investigation by the FBI, he has no right to appoint anyone to the "court". Where were these people when Hillary was running for President and under an FBI investigation for her private email server?
Just how long are Democrats going to carry on this circus of blocking Trump at every turn? Can we please get on with the business of running the government?

Russian Hack: Obama Orders an Investigation?
There has never been an official CIA or presidential declaration that the Russians were behind the hacking of the DNC and Hillary's Campaign email servers. Instead, we get a story from the Washington Post that a handful of U.S. Senators were secretly briefed by the CIA and that the hacking was in fact done by the "Russians" at the behest of Vlad Putin to give Trump his win.
So, if the CIA is already sure that the Russians did it, why did Obama publicly order an investigation into the hacking on the very same day that the "Post" reported that fact. At the same time, he announces that he wants to have the results of that investigation on his desk before he leaves office. Also, why back in late November, did the White House insist that the hacking didn't sway the election? These facts alone, call into question the whole Russian-hacking story. Are we dealing with more fake news? It certainly makes the President look as if he was the last in his administration to know. Last I heard, the CIA still reports to Obama and he would have been briefed well before a "handful" of senators. Is it also possible, that it is a "false flag" operation, as claimed by Ambassador John Bolton, and that Obama could be behind the hacking and not the Russians?
One thing is certain. The DNC and the Hillary campaign emails were hacked because of the lack of strict security on the servers. Can't blame the Russians for that!

Really? The Baltimore Cops are the Problem?
When it comes to crime, the Baltimore police have their hands full. Baltimore is a city of just 623,000 people. Yet, every year, they have more than 40,000 crimes. That's one crime for every 15-1/2 residents. Theoretically, that means that each resident will experience one crime every 15 years. That 1-in-15-1/2 also creates a helluva lot of suspects within that population; and may be why so many residents think they're being harassed by the cops.
Based on the murder rate per 1,000 people, Baltimore's is 9-1/4 times higher than the national average. The rape rate is twice that of the nation as a whole. The robbery rate stands at 6 times higher, and assault is almost 3 times the norm. All together, the violent crime rate per 1000 residents is nearly 4 times higher than the U.S. average.
According to the U.S. Attorney General and the Baltimore Mayor, the city has a civil rights problem within its police force.
To that, I say that the city -- which is 63% black and has a police force that is nearly half black -- has a civility problem. Not a civil rights problem. Police don't cause crime. They enforce the law and protect against it. When you have 438 crimes per square mile each year, something is seriously wrong and it isn't the police. They are simply being scapegoated for other more politically relevant problems; such as a 24% poverty rate and very high unemployment. Just 42% of the working-age adults in Freddie Gray's neighborhood have a job. Overall, young black men have a 37% unemployment rate in that city. Also, 36% of Baltimore's adult population are functionally illiterate and can't read at even a basic level. High poverty, unemployment, and illiteracy have all been linked to higher crime rates. Baltimore has them all.

Why the Silence on Sgt. Bergdahl Court Martial Investigation?
In early October, TheHill.com reported that the Bowe Bergdahl court martial investigation was complete. The investigation was conducted to determine if Bergdahl was guilty of desertion and gave material support to the Taliban that could have resulted in directed attacks on U.S. military positions in Afghanistan.
Now, if you are not familiar with the Bergdahl story, this soldier's release from being held by the Taliban was done in an exchange for 5 extremely high value detainees at Guantanamo Bay. This in Obama's quest to empty the Guantanamo Bay detention facility so it could be closed, as he promised all the way back to his campaigning days in 2008.
It seems to me that if Bergdahl was innocent of desertion and collusion with the enemy, we would have heard it by now and he would have been free to either stay in the Army or be discharged. However, the four months of silence since October seems to imply that he is guilty and, because of that, Obama has a problem on his hands. If, in fact, Bergdahl is a traitor to his country, the President made a massive mistake by trading him for those Taliban commanders. And, the public outcry will be massive.
I am assuming that he has been found guilty and, it will be interesting to see how Obama plans to keep that fact secret over his next two years in office. Obviously, something's afoot because, not once, has this country's press/media been able to question Bergdahl about how he came to be captured by the Taliban and the rumors that he provided them with material assistance.
The only way Obama will be forced to disclose the Bergdahl investigative report is if the media starts pounding the desk for that report. But, given the their liberal slant and constant protection of the President, don't count on it.
