Really? The Judas, Mary Landrieu, Should Get Reelected After Voting For ObamaCare?

Flash back to 2010.  Harry Reid needs 60 votes to pass ObamaCare into law.  This should have been a shoo-in since he had enough Democrats in the Senate to make it happen, but, there were several hold-outs who didn't think the law was the right thing to do.  So, Harry took out his faithful taxpayer-funded checkbook and started handing out money to resisting Democrats in order to buy their votes.  In total, there were about a half dozen Judas's that took their 30 pieces of silver in exchange for voting ObamaCare into legal existence. Senator Mary Landrieu got $300 million in Medicaid assistance for her vote in what has since been called the Louisiana Purchase.  Ben Nelson, a former insurance executive who should have known better, sold his vote in what is now referred to as the Corn Husker Kickback. The sad thing is that, if just one of these Senators had stood on their principles and not taken a bribe, we might not have ObamaCare today.

Now, Mary Landrieu and other vulnerable Democrat Senators are scrambling for reelection despite their involvement in getting ObamaCare passed. Landrieu is running ads that say she's pushing legislation to "fix" ObamaCare.  For that, she seems to think she should be reelected. But, the chances that Harry Reid will ever bring her "fix" to the Senate floor for a vote are zero and she knows it.  So, she is simply blowing smoke to gain votes.  Like Judas, who hung himself after betraying Christ, Mary Landrieu has hung herself politically.  What she and the Democrats have done to the American people should not be rewarded.

Liking and Voting For Obama Are Too Different Things

Last Thursday's Gallup daily tracking poll gave Obama a 51% approval rating; the highest in weeks and probably due to all the Bin Laden "kill" hype during that week But, on that same day, in a head-to-head election match-up against Romney, the same Gallup polling only gave Obama a single point advantage: 46% to Romney's 45%. Between the job approval rate and Obama's reelection polling, there was a 6 percentage point differential. This just proves that some voters are confusing job approval with likeability. As a result, when it comes to actually reelecting Obama, those same voters appear to be siding with Romney. A fact that should make Obama very, very nervous.

Obama Has An Etch-a-Sketch, Too

In an A.M. meeting with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev in Korea, President Obama was overheard saying this about missile defense: "After my election I have more flexibility." Oh, really? What other "new" or radical plans does our dear President have for his second term? Apparently, he feels that he has all to gain and nothing to lose after he's reelected. God help us if he is elected for a second term and, somehow, manages to regain control of both Houses of Congress!

The White House Predicts Its Own, Failed Reelection Bid?

This morning's Employment Report was just horrible. The job growth for last month was "zero" and you have to go all the way back to 1945 to match that kind of a nearly impossible statistic. Additionally, the unemployment rate held steady at 9.1%.

Even worse than today's horrible report, yesterday, the White House budget office dropped an "unemployment projection" bombshell that hardly bodes well for Obama's reelection bid. In a newly revised projection, the budget office now predicts that the unemployment rate will remain above 9 percent through the end of 2012. Previously, they had predicted an 8.6 percent rate for 2012 (Click here to See "The Hill" Story: "White House downgrades 2012 jobs, economic forecasts; cites 'turbulence'").

To put this into context, no President has won a reelection bid since FDR with an unemployment rate above 8%. One has to wonder why the White House would release this reelection-killing projection right now; just days before the President's jobs speech. Do you think maybe it is a psychological ploy to get Congress to act on Obama's jobs plan. I think so. This President and his team does absolutely nothing without calculating its political impact. Obviously, they're betting that, if they overstate a negative and, then, the economy actually does better, Obama will benefit by saying he beat the estimates.

Harry's Hari Kari Plan For The Democrats

I live in Las Vegas and the local airwaves are filled with TV and radio ads all hyping the good that Harry Reid has done for the city. The ads are being run by groups that claim to be independent but, if you do a little research, you will find that the organizations doing the advertising are just fronts for the Democratic National Committee and the SEIU (Service Employees International Union) and the AFL-CIO labor unions.

But, in poll after poll, despite the flood of glowing ads about him, Harry Reid's reelection is in real trouble. While the SEIU dominates the work environment of Hotels and Casinos, as well as jobs in the health care industry in Las Vegas, the rest of Nevada's electorate doesn't think much of Harry (Click to See A Pertinent Commentary: "Reid's chances look really dim ").

My guess is that: So Goes Harry, so go the rest of the congressional Democrats!

I just can't believe that Reid and his idiot gang of Democrats don't seem to mind committing Hari Kari over all the dumb legislation that they have pushed since Obama took office. With Obama at the helm, it appears that, to the man (and woman), the Democrats have all undergone something akin to "Lemming Gene Replacement Therapy". It appears they will just hold their noses and pass legislation; all the while knowing that they may lose their jobs next Fall. But, as it stands right now, that's Harry's plan and he's sticking to it. God help us!
