Three Terrorist Acts, That Aren't Called Terrorism

I think most people would agree that the beheading of a female employee in Moore, Oklahoma by a radical Muslim male co-worker is a form of terrorism, though not the FBI or the local police.  They are both referring to this as an act of workplace violence.

The same is true with the Fort Hood Shooting.  Now, 5 years after the fact, it is still defined as  workplace violence.  Further, the U.S. Treasury has refused to label the Boston Marathon bombing a terrorist act.  As a result, in all these cases, the victims and their families are being denied access to federal funds under the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program.

An important question though, is why aren't these horrendous events not being considered terrorism by The President?  Is it because Obama doesn't want to admit that, under his watch, there have been acts of terrorism on U.S. soil?  Something that never happened after 9/11 with Bush in charge. Or, is it because he doesn't want to admit that Al Qaeda and others still exist? After all, in November of 2012 he said this: “Thanks to sacrifice and service of our brave men and women in uniform, the war in Iraq is over, the war in Afghanistan is winding down, al Qaeda has been decimated, Osama bin Laden is dead.”

The simple fact is that terrorism does exist and, the radicals that commit these acts are growing in strength and numbers.  The worst kind of terrorism that we have to deal with is that which is associated with radical Islam.  Radicalized Muslims not only believe that violence against "infidels" is a good thing but, also, that dying while committing this violence is an act of martyrdom and an immediate path to heaven.  Contrary to Obama's politically motivated lie that Al Qaeda was "decimated", the truth is that its still alive and growing.

I think this Administration needs to start recognizing terrorism where it exists.  Not to do so results in our President having to admit that he and his National Security Director James Clapper underestimated the ISIS threat.  It would also have meant that, perhaps, both the Boston Marathon Bombing and the Foot Hood Shooting could have been avoided because, in both cases, the FBI had the perpetrators in their sights but did nothing.  And, one also has to wonder why the Oklahoma beheader wasn't on the FBI's radar with all the radical postings on his quite public Facebook page.

91 Million Radical Muslims Means The War On Terror Is Not Over

As noted in this blog recently, the Obama administration would prefer us to believe that the War on Terror is over.  They would have you believe that Al Qaeda and the Taliban are no longer a threat.  This head-in-the-sand attitude completely ignores the realities of how radical the Muslim world has become.

According to the Gallup organization, about 36% of the 1.3 billion Muslims in the world believe that the attacks on 9/11 were either somewhat or completely justified.  Buried within that 36%  is a hardcore and radical group of 7% who do think the 9/11 attacks were "completely" justified.  Now, 7% might seem like a small percentage but, in actuality, its about 91 million people.  Even if one-tenth of one percent of the most radical would be willing to kill themselves for the cause, you're talking about at least 91,000 Muslims around the world who could be a serious threat to us.  Of course, there's a real possibility, that this number is well understated.

The fact is that radical Muslim terrorism is never going to go away as long as radical Madrassas (schools) continue to exist throughout the world.  Muslim children, at their earliest ages, are being taught to hate America, Israel, and the Western way of life.  On top of that, you have thousands of radical religious leaders (Imams) teaching that same hate at weekly prayers.  Those two facts, combined, are why 36% of all Muslims even believe that the 9/11 attacks were in some way justified.  It doesn't matter if Bin Laden is dead.  There are millions of potential terrorists who eagerly want to hurt the U.S..

Some More 'I'm Sorry" B.S.

This week, that wretch Helen Thomas was caught on video making a comment that the Israelis should get out of Israel and go back to Germany, Poland, and elsewhere. Well, once the video went viral on the Internet, the normally-cranky Ms. Thomas got all apologetic. But, that apology is not sincere. She's held these viewpoints against Israel for years. Just look at this video from 2006 showing Helen's banter with Tony Snow where she obviously condemns Israel's attack of Hezbollah in Lebanon in an attempt to stop the missiles being lobbed into their civilian neighborhoods by this Lebanese, Jewish-hating terrorist group:

A Day of Rejoicing For Some

While most Americans are in deep reverence of this 11th day of September, there are those in the world who are rejoicing over the events that took place on this day in 2001. They are those who are proud of what happened to America, eight years ago. And, on this day of remembrance, we should never forget that.

On that day that the twin towers were toppled, our innocence about being attacked on our own soil was taken from us. 9/11 cost America and Americans a lot. Not only were there many lives lost; but, also, our everyday lives were changed for ever. Our tradition of freedoms was stolen from us. Since 9/11, we have been constantly looking over our shoulders in the concern that something else, like 9/11, will happen again. Trillions of dollars have been spent to protect us all. And, for that very reason, Al Qaeda scored a second victory against America.

Al Qaeda is not gone and we should never become complacent. Even if we catch Osama Bin Laden, there are more than enough haters of America who are waiting in that long line to take Bin Laden's place. I think that we should all fear that Al Qaeda or the Taliban might link up with some rogue state that has nuclear weaponry. That is why stopping Iran's intention of becoming a nuclear power is so important.

We have been safe for 8 years and, I would hope, we can stay safe for 8 more; and, for as long as Al Qaeda still exists. It is good that we remember this day. But, it is more important that we never stop learning from this day. Because, to do so, would be at our own peril.
