In President Obama's prime-time speech with regard to fighting the threat of ISIS, he referred to a broad coalition of countries that will join in our effort to destroy ISIS. Sadly, that 'broad' coalition only stands at 9 other countries: Britain, France, Australia, Canada, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Poland and Denmark. Even sadder is the fact that only one Muslim country -- Turkey -- has joined us. However, Turkey is probably an ally in name only since they just announced that they won't get involved in combat activities or allow the U.S. or other allies to use their airbases or air space to launch attacks. So...is the coalition now falling apart?
All along, Obama has told us that the fight against ISIS is regional. So, where are all those regional Muslim countries that surely could be threatened? Now, I realize that Israel is sort of tied up with its own problems right now but, what about Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, Egypt and so many other Muslim countries that could be targets of ISIS and their attempt to build a world-wide caliphate?
A friend of mine -- a regional sales manager for a major pharmaceutical manufacturer -- once said that: "If you can't even convince a cancer patient to buy a drug that will cure his cancer, you have no place being in pharmaceutical sales." In the same way, if our President can't convince a small Arab country like Jordan that it is in their best interest to fight ISIS, then something is seriously wrong with his leadership skills.

How Mary Went From Having A Little Lamb To Mary Having A Lot Of Turkey
Most Americans don't really know how Thanksgiving became a U.S. holiday or how the turkey became the symbol of this national day of thanks. Most, erroneously believe that it was a tradition established by the first pilgrims; with the turkey being the centerpiece of the event. While the turkey may have been served at this supposed first Thanksgiving, it is more than likely that the pilgrims, in British tradition, preferred the choice of a holiday goose.
Then, there's the issue of this feast being a fixed tradition throughout the growth our fledgling country. At best, there may have been scattered celebrations for having a successful autumn harvest; but, nothing even close to having a national holiday. Certainly, any of these events were primarily isolated to farming communities. The city dwellers had no such celebrations.
The real Thanksgiving holiday came about almost 200 years after the Pilgrims cordially sat with the Indians and broke bread (so to speak). The actual holiday was literally the product of one person. A woman by the name of Sarah Josepha Hale; known more famously for her "Mary Had A Little Lamb" nursery rhyme. As the editor of a publication called the Ladies' Magazine, she became an advocate of a holiday where family and friends sat down and feasted and gave thanks; openly writing about it in her magazine and often referencing those first pilgrim gatherings. Then, too, she often included menus and recipes; many of which starred the now-famous centerpiece: The humble turkey. Over a period of 17 years, she wrote letters to whomever was the current sitting President of the United State imploring each of them to promote legislation that would declare Thanksgiving a national holiday. Finally, in 1863, the then-President, Abraham Lincoln, sponsored legislation and this famous American holiday was born.
So, as you sit and enjoy your Thanksgiving turkey, always remember it was the writer of a story about a little girl who had a little lamb that started it all.

Idiot Diplomacy
From this:
To this:
Apparently, Obama doesn't seem to understand who this country's real friends are. While he was yucking it up with Brazil's President Lula (top video), that same leader of Brazil, along with Turkey, were busily working closely with Iran on a nuclear exchange program that, spiced-up with some key trade agreements (Click to See Full Story: Iran seeks to boost Brazil trade as sanctions loom), would absolutely weaken any chances to impose effective sanctions on Iran to stop their pursuit of "the bomb" (the bottom video). We've just been screwed, blued, and Lula-lued over Iran. And, too, Turkey easily made us look like the world's diplomatic "turkey" over Iran.
A year and a half of holding his dumb hand out to Iran and kissing up to the left-wing, socialist behind of Lula and now this. Good going Barack! You've really got a handle on things. For sure, Iran will get their bomb now! But, maybe that's what he wanted all along. It's obvious. He had a lovely little press conference with Lula in the top video and then had no such conference with the Israeli Prime Minister, Netanyahu, when he visited (Click to See Full Story: Binyamin Netanyahu humiliated after Barack Obama 'dumped him for dinner'). Why Obama received so much of the Jewish vote just amazes me.
Note: This video is only available in Spanish and just the first 17 seconds are pertinent to this blog entry. No "English version" of this video was available to show the interactions between Obama and this left-wing South American leader before the start of the actual press appearance. For some reason, that interaction was specifically not shown by our mainstream American press. I wonder why?
