Obama Was on the Ballot and He Lost

More than anything, Donald Trump's victory was not about defeating Hillary Clinton, but instead, defeating 8 years of Barack Obama.  Eight years of going around Congress with executive orders.  Eight years of stagnant wages; high poverty; slow economic growth; and more than 28,000 new regulations.  Then, of course, there was ObamaCare.  At a time when we were hearing nothing but bad news about that law, Hillary was proudly declaring that she would build on the success of it.  Trump said he would repeal it.

Then, we see the state of the world that Obama is leaving us with.  The Middle East is on fire.  Russia and China are constantly testing us.  There are now fewer people working in manufacturing jobs than  government jobs.  Crime and murder, after decades of decline, are rising.  Call it the Ferguson effect.  I call it the Obama effect. Having his Justice Department riding rough shod over city police departments, has so negatively affected morale, the police have stopped doing their jobs.

No,  Hillary didn't lose.  Obama did.  Every poll taken with regard to the direction of the country said "the people" believed the country was on the wrong track.  I would expect Trump to do everything possible to reverse the past 8 years of Obama from the face of our government; and hopefully, get this country back on the right track.

John Kasich is Delusional

To date, there have been 41 contests (primaries, caucuses, and conventions) in the States, territories, and District of Columbia, that awarded delegates for the GOP nomination at the convention in Cleveland, Ohio later this year.  However, in 26 of those contests, John Kasich has walked away with zero delegates, giving him a loss percentage of 63%.  In three of those contests, he only mustered 1 per contest.  After all that, he is still behind Marco Rubio  -- 171 to 143 -- who has been out of the race for weeks.  Furthermore, there aren't enough delegates left for Kasich win the requisite 1237  to win the nomination; especially when you take into account that he usually runs dead last behind Trump and Cruz in most polls for the remaining states.  The only reason he's running in second place in New York is because of Ted Cruz's "New York values" dis at a debate.  Even so, Kasich can only muster 20-22%  compared to 72% for Trump and Cruz combined.

What does this say about someone who still thinks he's going to win the nomination? In my opinion it speaks volumes about his character and mental state.  While I could use a lot of terms to describe Kasich, let's just leave it as delusional.

Hillary Still Has It! Losing and Losing Even Bigger

Hillary barely won in Iowa.  Then, in New Hampshire, she totally flamed out; giving Bernie Sanders a 22 point lead.  Most political analysts consider any win of 10 points or more a landslide. So, let's say it.  Hillary lost by a landslide.

Team Clinton blamed Bernie's big win on the fact that New Hampshire voters were inclined to vote for Sanders because he comes from a neighboring state.  But, let's not forget the New Hampshire's motto: "Live Free or Die".  Maybe that is why Bernie really won.  After all that's what he wants.  Free healthcare. Free college.  Free pre-K. Free  child care. Free, free, and even freer.  Otherwise, we'll all die. Of course, his $18 trillion of new spending won't come free to the people who actually have to pay the bill.   So, I guess Hillary lost because she just wasn't as "free" with America's taxes as Bernie.

The point is that Bernie is selling socialism; Hillary, not so.   Thus, if she wants to beat the "Bern" she better start piling on the free stuff.  Hell, by the time November rolls around, they'll have us all living in full furnished government housing. The new Obama-phone will be a free car. We probably won't have to work because we'll all be on some form of expanded Social Security and only the millionaires and billionaires will be left working to pay all the bills.   And, life will be great.
