The above chart represents approximately 40 years of stock activity for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (the "DOW"). Each bar on the chart represents one year's activity for the "Dow". In the last year, from 10/10/2007 to 10/9/2008, the "DOW" has fallen by 39.43 percent. Clearly, the wealth of 5 years of stock trading has been nearly wiped out in a single year. All appearances are that this will not stop soon.
