Obama Going Down Fast

Yesterday, the most recent John Zogby poll showed Obama's favorable rating at the lowest of all polls at 42% (Click to See Full Story).

This morning, Obama hit the lowest approval rating ever in the daily Rasmussen tracking poll at 45% (Click to See Tracking Data).

Take your pick from health care reform, to unemployment, to national security, and this country isn't looking any better under this President or the Democrats; and the polls reflect that.

Obama has had the fastest slide of any President since Presidential polling has been in existence. In about a half year, he has slipped from a 68% favorability rating to today's 42% for one poll; and, 45% in another. At the same time, his disapproval rate has risen even faster.

Obama won his election by getting 53% of the vote. At 42% with Zogby, he is now down 11 percentage points from his winning percentage. Much of that drop is from the loss of Independents and Republicans who voted for him and who, now, have moved against his policies. Even some blacks and Democrats are leaving him behind (look at the Zogby details). For sure, with anger against health care reform, the most reliable voting block of all, our nation's seniors, are leaving him in droves.

Unless Obama starts to move to the center, I think we're seriously looking at another one-term Democrat as President. I think the 2010 elections, more than anything, will be a referendum on Obama and his policies. It could very well be a landslide for the Republicans if things don't improve quickly.
